What We Do

At R. Wilson Furniture we design and build both free standing and fitted furniture completely bespoke to you, your style and your space. We can help you at every stage of the process in creating an environment perfect for you and your family to relax, laugh and build long lasting memories in.

How we do it.

We can help you develop your initial concept into a well thought out, functional design that blends seamlessly into your home as well as helping make your day to day life easier by integrating intelligent storage solutions, modern technology and simple to use hardware and appliances.

Once we have evolved the perfect design for you, we will draft a custom set of professional technical drawings which we will explain clearly and thoroughly to you so you know exactly what is going on at every stage of the process. Once everybody is happy with the drawings we will be able to give you an accurate quote and time frame for whole project.

We will then go to our workshop and lovingly craft each piece of your project taking great care in every last detail so that it all fits beautifully and exactly how you wanted it. After it is all constructed we will apply your prefer finish, which we are happy to discuss and advise you on in the design stage, ensuring your new exquisite piece of furniture lasts a life time.

Only after every last piece of your project has been meticulously checked to ensure it is of the highest quality will we deliver and fit your piece professionally, working with any other subcontractors you need for you project to be complete.

We understand that for most people, having bespoke, custom designed and made furniture can be a dauting process and many may not have even ever considered it. At R. Wilson Furniture we want to make this as easy and stress free as possible, so we offer a free design consultation to help explain in detail how the process works, what options you have available and answer any and every question you have. Frequently Asked Questions

  • As each and every piece will vary in size, style, material and complexity, there is no set price. We discuss pricing individually and can work within budget however you will not receive a finalised quote until we have produced a technical drawing, this will allow us to accurately get quotes for materials, consumable, hardware, finishes and appliances as well as develop a time scale.

  • We painstaking try at every stage to ensure this does not happen by working closely with yourself through out the design stage and ensuring you know exactly what you are getting and you get exactly what you want.

    Timber is a natural material so each and every piece is unique so we can not show you exactly what the grain will look like however with our knowledge and experiences, we can best select the correct board for your desired.

    Unfortunately due to the bespoke nature of our business we can not offer refunds on custom made pieces however are more than happy to help develop the design until you are happy with it before any manufacturing takes place.

    If there is a manufacturing fault with any of our work, hardware or appliances we will of cause repair or replace this within your guarantee period.

  • We are based within the Plymouth area of Devon so we mainly service Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. However we can produce work for projects UK wide, we may use alternative delivery services for smaller free standing furniture or charge additional fee for installation and site visits.
